Try the new bird now!

After 3 months, the new Mozilla Thunderbird 0.6 is released.

Before upgrading, remember to uninstall the previous thunderbird and delete the "chrome" directory under your thunderbird profile. For Windows, it should be something like "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Thunderbird".
